~T E C H A L E R T~
Let’s be real, we all need a tech guy. This week, we got one! Matt runs a popular tech account on various platforms that showcases modern tech products and peripherals. He was kind enough to stop by Bronze League, so let’s hear what he’s got to say :)

Hey Matt, why don’t you tell us about yourself and what you do. How did you find yourself running this type of account?
I am a content creator on TikTok and Instagram with over 1 million followers. I focus on various tech and gaming products. My goal is to highlight new and interesting products and show them in my setup.
This all started in December 2020. I was stuck at home for 2 weeks with covid when this idea hit me to start making videos. I already had a cool room with flashy lights, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I posted 3-4 videos and they blew up big time. Skip forward to today and I am still cranking out videos!
How do you decide what products you end up unboxing and showcasing on your accounts?
I get a TON of requests from companies wanting their product to be featured on my accounts. Obviously, I can’t do a video on all of them, so I have to filter out the top ones. My main criteria is “Would I use/buy this product on my own if the company wasn’t sending it to me.” If the answer is “yes, I would buy/use it” then I move forward with that product.
What has your [gaming] favorite product been and why? What about your least favorite?
My favorite product has to be the HYPELEV Magnet Stand. Its main purpose is to make a shoe “levitate”. I put my own twist on it and used it as a headset stand. I get comments on every single video that I post asking about it. (I can send you a picture of it)
We all have a strat to eat snacks at the keyboard without making a mess. What’s yours?
My go to move is having a towel that is wet on one half and dry on the other. I just keep it in my lap and wipe my hands on it after every handful of food I eat!
How did you decide that you wanted to start reviewing tech?
I have always enjoyed tech products and seeing new things get released. I figured no better way to get my hands on them than having brands send them to me to create content.
You definitely strike me as a hardware guy, but let's chat software. Specifically gaming software. I know me and some friends always bitch about shitty software that comes with a new keyboard or mouse to control the different profiles and RGB colors. I myself prefer iCue, but I know there are many out there. Do you have a preference?
I am a fan of the iCue software. It works great now that they have fixed some of the previous issues. Also, NZXT’s CAM software has really stepped up their game!
A lot of your videos feature the blue and pink color scheme, is there any story behind that?
Honestly, I am a big fan of how the colors look when paired together. At this point, it has become a part of my channel/brand image so no going back now!
On Bronze League, we like to talk about gaming and all of its aspects. Have you played any games that have been enhanced significantly by any extra hardware you have used? (Steering wheel, different monitor, controller, etc)
Absolutely! I made the switch from 60hz monitors to a 185hz monitor and it is GAME CHANGING! The game is smooth and feels like it's running so much faster. Having a monitor with a high refresh rate is one of the best upgrades that you can make!
You’ve worked with a lot of cool brands like Discord, C4 Energy, Elgato, Razer, etc. What was your favorite experience about working with some of these higher level brands? Go ahead, plug that promo code ;)
Having the opportunity to work with these huge brands has been a great experience. They bring a level of quality and professionalism that makes working together super smooth. I am super humbled knowing these companies want to collaborate with me.
What sort of formula or process do you go through before posting a video?
I start by creating a “hook” for the beginning of the video. Those first 2-3 seconds are the most critical for having a successful video. I try to create a story behind whatever the video is about. I want it to be interesting to the viewer rather than just telling them boring specs for the product. As long as there is a good hook and a good story for the video, I am pretty confident that the video will yield good results.
Hardware can be pretty intense, what is the most outrageous product you were able to get your hands on and review?
Definitely my graphics card for my PC. I was able to get a Founders Edition 3080 for my build. They are extremely hard to find for a reasonable price.
How do you determine what content goes on TikTok vs. Instagram vs. Snapchat, etc?
Essentially, my goal is to highlight cool products that I find while giving an inside look into what part of my life is like. If I think something is interesting, I will usually create some form of content on it. I figure, if I am interested in it, my viewers are likely going to be interested as well.
